The Epiphone Les Paul Standard Guitar - The work of a genius?

The guitar Epiphone Les Paul Standard has its roots in Turkey, where the greek known as Mr. Anastasios Stathopoulos made lutes and violins again in 1870 years. Stathopoulos moved to the United States of America in 1903, where he continued his work until his death in 1915.

His son - Epaminondas (known as "Epi") then the company and after the end of World War I the company began to make the then popularBanjos. The guitars were done first by the company until 1928, the year before the collapse of Wall Street.

EPI died in 1943, towards the end of World War II, then his two brothers in the control of the company. However, they were not so equipped with companies such as Epi and the company was eventually bought by Gibson, its main competitor, in 1957.

In 1970, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard guitar began to be produced in Japan, then in the 1980The main manufacturing industries in Korea, where the emphasis is on producing a cheaper version of the classic Gibson model. But the Epiphone guitars exclusively in China was built.

Although Gibson Epiphone looks like the original - both visually and ergonomically - some guitarists believe that there is a slightly different tone. There is no proof behind this theory, though.

These days, a subsidiary of Gibson, Epiphone, Epiphone guitars and generallyeverything seems to look like the Gibson Guitar, Epiphone although quite a few 'less than the Gibson, Epiphone, although still holding its line of archtop area.

Incidentally, the name "Epiphone" is actually taken from "epi" (Epaminondas) and "phone" which is greek for sound.
