The Gibson Explorer

With its angular body, and strong pallet Gibson Explorer is instantly recognizable.

Gibson first published in 1958 (along with the equally famous Flying V guitar) the Explorer was a radical departure from his more famous brother, the Gibson Les Paul.

The original Explorer - X-plorer (or Futura, as it was originally called) was fitted with two humbucker pickups, two tone controls and a switch to 3 way pick-up.
